Rugby

St. Peter's first 15 beat Royal Grammar School High Wycombe by 23 points to 10 it was a tough match but St. Peter's were too strong for the Buckinghamshire outfit. Next up at home are Wellington College in the Last 16 in the New Year.

Hockey

In the Hockey Arena - St. Peter's qualified as winners of the West Division of the Girls Under 16 indoor hockey. The girls did very well to beat Cheltenham College by 3goals to nil.

Tennis

The Under 19 boys team beat Bristol Grammar School on games convincingly. The match score was 3-3 and St. Peter's won by 29 games to 18.

Tennis

2 weeks ago the Under 19 boys team beat the regional League leaders St.
Mary Redcliffe and Temple School from Bristol by 4 matches to 2. This
puts the boys back in contention to go through to the Nationals if they
can win their next 2 fixtures comprehensively against Bristol Grammar
and Beechen Cliff school from Bath. The boys are performing
exceptionally well and the team is Phil Hazelwood, Oliver Duffy, Kris
Smith and Tom Gadbury.

Rugby:

St. Peter's Under 15 side beat Crypt away on Tuesday 27th November in
the latest round of the Daily Mail Cup. This was a great effort as this
was the school who knocked out Colstons from Bristol. Although it was a
tight game, the boys came through 10 - 5.

Rugby -Daily Mail Cup

On Wednesday 7th November St Peter's 1st 15 beat St Bartholomew's College 64 - 18 in the last 32 of the Daily Mail Cup.
Next up are Royal Grammar School - High Wycombe at home in the Last 16. Good luck to the boys!

Half Term Hockey Tour

Year 10 girls faced stiff opposition as they played Portadown Sixth Form College and they lost 5-0. They also played Atletic Terrasa and won 4-0.

Year 11 girls played CD Terrasa in their first match and drew 0-0 and beat Matadepera 4-0 in their second match.

The contribution of Miss Porter to this tour must be acknowledged as it was absolutely invaluable from preparation to delivery.

Half Term Rugby Tour Results

BarcelonaThe Year 10 rugby team won both of their games against Geieg University RFC at Geieg University and against CEU RFC held at Barcelona University complex.



Ipswich
The first 15 rugby team won all their matches on the first day at the St Josephs Festival in Ipswich but their progress wasn't as easy on the 2nd day.

Rugby:

St. Peter's first 15 beat Sir Thomas Riches school on Wednesday 17th October in the latest round of the Daily Mail Cup. The lads now progress to the regional stages of the National Competition.

The first 15 this weekend travel to Ipswich for the annual St. Joseph's festival of rugby.

Tennis

Boys Under 13 Tennis:

South West Regional Final v Chase School, Malvern.

It was played at Oxstalls on Tuesday 16th October and the lads played exceptionally well but went down 4-2. Chris Cole won his singles by 6 games to 4 against a higher ranked opponent and kept up his record of not having lost a school singles or doubles rubber at his age group all year. Will Gardner accompanied Chris to win the other match - with a doubles victory. Elliott Hopson played extremely well as did Jake Haywood but they lost to 2 lads who were 2 years their senior.

The Under 18 side drew with Colstons on match wins but unfortunately lost overall on games.

Rugby:

St. Peter’s are into round 3 of the Daily Mail Cup where they play Sir Thomas Riches School on Wednesday 17th October. The last round saw St. Peter’s beat Marling 51 - 0 and the game was stopped after 60 minutes due to 50 points difference.

St. Peter’s Under 15 team recently beat Central Technology Collegel 50 - 0 in the first round of the Daily Mail Cup and the game was again stopped after 60 minutes. On Tuesday 2nd October St. Peter’s Under 15’s beat Chosen Hill School

Skiing:

An U19 Ski team was entered into the Regional area qualifiers at
Gloucester Ski Slope.

Tom Wilkinson, James Mozol and Hayden Williamson raced to win their age
group and came second overall on the day. They travel, with James Davies
who has been injured, to compete in the National Finals in Stoke on
October 13th/14th. We wish them all the best!

Hockey:

Years 8, 9 and 10 are all unbeaten this season.

The Year 11 team are competing in the U16 National Schools Tournament on
the 11th October.

Tennis:

The Boys Under 13 Tennis Team are through to the South West Regional Final where they will play The Chase School from Hereford and Worcester. The boys have had a great run this year including knocking out St. Edwards from Cheltenham in the County Final 4 - 0 without needing to play the doubles. They actually lost to St. Edwards 6 - 0 in June which makes the result all the more satisfying. In the regional semi-final they then saw off Dauntseys School from Wiltshire by a score of 5 - 1.

The team consists of Chris Cole, Will Gardner, Elliott Hopson and Liam Britton-Jeal.

The Boys Under 19 Team start their Winter campaign in the Nestle National Winter Competition against Colstons from Bristol on the 9th October 2007. The squad consisting of Phil Hazelwood, Oliver Duffy, Kris Smith, Tom Gadbury and Dan Young will be looking to go further than the Regional Semi-Finals that they achieved last year.

Charlie Chapman (St. Marys - feeder primary) - Boys Under 9 Quarter-Finalist and Under 10 Doubles Semi-Finalist.
